Journey Church Leadership Team

Journey Church will eventually function with Biblical Elders and Deacons in leadership.  Until individuals are installed in these roles we have chosen to function with a leadership team comprised of Journey Church staff and other leaders from the church.

Our Current Leadership Team is made up of the following individuals:

Tom Fitzpatrick, Chris Steed, Vic Cuccia, David Johnson, Reid Fitzpatrick, Joe Poole

Vic Cuccia - Pastor

Vic was born in the windy city of Chicago and was raised in the small town of Twin Lakes Wisconsin.  Upon graduating high school, he attended the University of Wisconsin, Whitewater, where he pursued his bachelor’s degree in business management.  It was while attending college that Vic became a follower of Jesus Christ.

Having no religious upbringing, and no understanding of the Bible, it took God moving in a powerful way to show him his need for a savior.  After realizing this, he not only committed his life to following Christ but to serving Him in any capacity that he possibly could.

It was in college that Vic also met the woman of his dreams, Roxane Eiesland, whom he married and is now his partner in life and ministry.  Vic and Roxane have been married for 18 years and they now have three wonderful children, Victor, Karis and Jonathan.

Upon graduation from UW-W, Vic and Roxane packed their bags and moved to Columbia South Carolina where Vic attended seminary at Columbia International University.  It was there that he earned his Master of Divinity degree.

Vic has now been in full time ministry for 13 years and has served as the associate pastor of two churches.  Currently, he serves as the Lead Pastor of Journey Church and is committed to seeing the city of Jacksonville transformed by the power of Jesus Christ, expressed through those who love Him.  To use his own words “there is no other place that I would rather be than engaged in God’s mission to heal a broken world, with a group of people who are genuinely interested in loving God, loving others and making the world a better place.  This is what makes Journey Church special and this is what being a Christ follower is all about.”

Jason Robinson - Worship

Jason was born in the misty northwest state of Washington, moved to the island of Japan and has now lived in Jacksonville for the majority of his life.  Being raised in the church, he gave his life to Christ when he was 9 years old.  As most do, he grew older and realized a personal relationship with Christ was something very different than an inherited parents’ faith.  He committed himself to serving Christ and the Church in High School where he led worship for his youth group.  He continued leading worship after graduating, and took on a leadership role with the youth.

Playing in a handful of bands, Jason knew his calling was in music, but wanted to stay close to his passion of bringing people to worship through that art.  He began feeling a tug toward church planting in early 2006 and began looking into what he could do in this area and after a year, he met Vic Cuccia (Lead Pastor of the then newly formed Journey Church) in a local cafe’.  After coming to know each other, Jason was asked to lead worship for Journey Church, and after a number of months, was brought on staff as Worship Leader.

Jason loves his home and family at Journey Church, and continues to carry a passion for bringing people to the throne room of the Creator through the new and old in the worship circle.

Joe Poole - Community Life

Joe was born on a balmy winter day in Jacksonville, Florida. His toddler years were spent on Army bases in Texas and Georgia. He spent his first two years of school on an Army base in Germany, and it was in Germany where Joe gave his life to Jesus. He spent the rest of his school years in Jacksonville and graduated from Englewood High School.

During Joe’s teenage years, his relationship with the Lord drastically changed. Joe was brought into a deeper calling and fuller experience through the youth ministry he was involved in. It was during his late teenage years, that Joe met and became good friends with a young woman named Dana Smith. Three years later, this beautiful godly woman became his wife and now they have celebrated almost 20 years of marriage together. They have two wonderful teenagers, Jordan and Gabriella, who love God and serve Him with all their heart.

God has given Joe many ministry opportunities over the years.  Joe’s heart to see individuals connect with God and with others has fueled his passion for ministry.  He has lead children’s ministry and men’s ministry, as well as served in youth, small group ministry and on worship teams with his wife, Dana.

According to Joe, the most meaningful part of overseeing the Community Life of Journey Church is seeing people living and growing in their relationship with Jesus and with people from all walks of life.
